Cersaie 2019 Highlights

We returned to Bologna, Italy for another year of discovering new trends and ranges at this years Cersaie tile exhibition. Covering 161,000 square metres of exhibition whilst dodging past 112,000 attendees, we present to you some fresh discoveries and new favourites.

MARAZZI

You might have already heard of Marazzi and the incredible ranges they have been producing. They have been at the forefront of ceramic tile production since being founded in 1935 and have been responsible for a lot of the main technological, process and design innovations in the tile sector. This factory blew us away at the exhibition with their new ranges Zellige, Lume & D_Segni Blend. Featured above is Zellige, a glossy finish glazed porcelain tile in 100x100mm format. With a stunning variation between each tile, Zellige works perfectly for feature walls and splash-backs, the hardest part is picking which colour out of the 12 available!

Could not be more excited to have this range available at Elite. Lume from Marazzi, a breathtaking subway tile featuring that same colour variation as the Zellige range, - we fell in love with this tile the moment we saw it. This glazed porcelain tile is available in a 60x240mm format with a 10mm thicknesss. Our favourites are Green, Blue and Greige!

Marazzi seemed to be the gift the kept on giving, with their variated Zellige rangealso available as a matt finish floor grade option, in 200x200mm as well as 100x100mm format. The range is called D_Segni Blend, and again has a huge variety of colours to choose from, including some lovely decor patterns.

STON

On our last day just as we thought we were done and dusted, we were fortunate to stumble upon STON. STON are quite a new Italian mosaic factory that is very quickly rised through the ranks and made a strong name for themselves in the industry. What we fell in love with was their custom made range - Enamel Mosaics. Made of 100% recycled glass, the range offers 115 different colours in 45 different shapes with either a matt or glossy finish. The best part is, the blend/design/pattern it is entirely up to you. STON are giving the power to the people by having complete control over how your mosaics will look like. Look at the range here to see some examples.

MOSAICO MICRO

On the topic of recycled glass, another small factory leading the way in eco-sustainable production is Mosaico Micro. They had stunning ranges of mosaics in many different designs and colours - all made from recycled glass. They explained the process to us by saying, "We retrieve the glass from abandoned computers and monitors. From there we crush, mill & pigment the glass, before mixing it with water".

VALLELUNGA & CO.

Our friends at Vallelunga won us over with their new range Nolita, which features the luxurious look of onyx stone in various porcelain formats. Also available in decor and mosaic options, this range had it all.

GIGACER

A lovely new factory from Faenza, Italy by the name of Gigacer impressed us with a unique and different decorative range called Deco. From afar, we were fascinated by the patterns and pastel colour schemes. However it isn't until you look and feel the tile up close that we discovered it's delicate and stunning texture.

FIORANESE

Fioranese have given designers and architects something to get excited about... With the introduction of Cementine OpenAir, we now offer decorative 200x200mm outdoor floor tiles in a P5 Slip Rating. The patterns offer a new take on classic and geometric modules, offering a number of different composition options as well as a variety of pastel colours.

TERRATINTA

This year at Cersaie we specifically kept an eye out for new concrete effect tiles to stock - and boy did Terratinta come through with the goods. Presenting Grained, a perfect granulated floor tile available in 4 colours and 4 size formats. For us, the Green Copper colour was an absolute stand out!

With the success of Terratinta's Hexa range, the factory decided to further improve the range with a whole stack of new colours. An additional 6 colours are now available in the hexagonal mosaic format as well as the groovy Matt/Gloss/Fabric blend featured above.

SANT. AGOSTINO

Am I in pattern heaven? Nope, just Sant. Agostino's booth at Cersaie. Launched at the fair is a flawless new range called Intarsi, a porcelain wall and floor tile that blends both timber effect and marble effect into one. Available in a huge 15 different patterns, with mixed options also available.

CAESAR

Caesar go from strength to strength with yet another great range announcement at this years Cersaie. The introduction of Hike caught our eye: a porcelain timber effect range that is available in 4 colours and 3 different sizes. The slightly different approach to timber effect tiles in this range is what impressed us, with the addition of a 20mm thick outdoor surface option being available in 300x1200mm format.

Branching on from the Anima range is the brand new Anima Ever by Caesar. A marble effect porcelain tile with heaps of character, the 6 colours are available in sizes as small as 300x300mm mosaics and as big as 1600x3200mm tiles. We absolutely adore the Sage Green colour, which is just as stunning in real life as it is in the photos.

ADEX

Last but certainly not least, Spanish factory Adex officially launched their standout Riviera collection. Featuring 10 lovely bursts of colour with variations of shades throughout, all colours are available in a range of sizes, skirts and cappings. The stand out for us in this range is the strange sizing of 100x150mm - a size that isn't normally produced.
